Finding What is Best for YOU

Hi Everyone and Welcome to my Blog!

I am so excited to have a platform for sharing information, ideas, and encouragement to help you find practices and actions that nourish your body, mind, and soul.

The focus of my holistic mental health practice is to help YOU find what is best for YOU. In seeking healthy lifestyle practices, you may have experienced overwhelm, like I have, from the continuous flow of information from Google, AI. social media, and targeted advertising. It can really be a challenge to sift through the flood of psychologically directed information that is aimed at manipulating our choices. Many of us don’t even realize how often our decisions and choices are based on these influences.

Our mind often lies to us, but our body knows our truth. Our minds continually tell us things based on what others say is best or information that is often inaccurate. The regular practice of yoga can calm our mind so that we can get in touch with our body. Our body is like a radar and can help us determine what is right for us if we take the time to listen to what it is “saying”.

The next time you have a choice to make use the Yum-Yuck principle. Sit quietly, close your eyes, take some deep breaths, and place one hand on your heart center and the other on your belly. Then ask the question. Notice where in your body are you experiencing feelings-are the feelings yum (positive) or yuck (negative). Let what your body is telling you help in guiding your choices.

Being more mindful of the connection between your mind and body when making choices helps you align with what is best for YOU rather than making a choice because it worked for someone else.

If you apply this principle when choosing practices to nourish your body, mind, and soul you can avoid making impulsive choices that are not best suited for YOU.

Namaste’,  🙏

Martha
